To understand the context from which the interlocutor is coming and your emotional state is much more important than to instantly provide logical arguments.

Conveying intent, beyond words, is the success that sustains openness when arguments are not enough.

Stating your point of view in a clear and non-aggressive manner gives incomparably better results than winning an argument at any cost.
